The Hospice Hour
We’re asking employers to bring the whole office together for just one wonderful hour to raise funds to support patients in your local hospice.
The concept is simple, employers are asked to give one hour of time to employees, on a date of your choosing. In exchange, employees are asked to donate an hour of their salary to the company’s chosen hospice.
The Hospice Hour allows both businesses and employees to support their local hospice by simply donating an hour of your time. It’s an opportunity to take an hour out of our busy workdays to reflect and acknowledge what just 1 hour can do for your local hospice, whilst also appreciating the value and gift of time for yourself.
The hour your organisation gives to employees could look like gathering everyone for a pizza on their lunch break, or an hour of yoga – it’s up to you! Your company’s reward for employees can be as simple as you like, the most important thing is that employees are treated to something special by the company in exchange for donating an hour of their salary to hospice.

Here’s how:
- Register on behalf of your company by clicking on the Register My Company button and select the hospice your organisation wishes to support.
- Download your digital pack containing assets to support your company to participate and engage employees in the event.
- Choose a date for your company to give an hour of time to employees.
- Communicate your company’s plan to participate internally with employees using our email template included in your digital pack.
- Circulate your company’s personalised fundraising URL where employees are asked to donate an hour of their salary using our online wage calculator.
**Top tip! Donations can be made anonymous – simply choose to hide your name or the amount when making a donation.
