Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is a people-centred charity, providing outstanding hospice care for every community in North West Surrey – delivered with compassion, excellence and financial resilience.

This Surrey-based charity provides free, specialist palliative and end-of-life care to around 1,500 patients and their loved ones each year, 71% of whom are supported in their own homes.

Alongside expert clinical care for people with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart and neurological disease, the hospice offers holistic support including counselling, bereavement services, complementary therapies, along with wellbeing activities for patients and families. Based in a purpose-built 20-bed hospice in Woking, with outreach across North West Surrey, the charity costs £10.8 million annually to run. With only a third of the funding coming from the NHS, the Hospice relies on public generosity to ensure compassionate care and support are available to local people when they need it most.

The need for hospice care has never been greater. We are seeing more referrals from younger patients with complex needs, alongside an ageing population that will increasingly rely on our services.

To meet this growing demand and secure our future, we’ve developed a new Three-Year Strategy and operational plan to achieve a financial net surplus, enabling us to reach more people across North West Surrey with outstanding care when they need it most.

Every pound raised stays locally.

When you support Woking & Sam Beare Hospice,
you’re supporting your local hospice.
